E-mail is one of the fastest ways of communication over the internet and we have to use emails regularly in order to communicate with our friends, relatives, clients, colleagues, customers etc. With the advancement in technology computer systems are becoming faster as well as speed of internet. This speed saves our time by processing the tasks in the background faster. Email systems (at least Google Mail) are following this trend and trying to make our email experience even better.
One of the most important aspects of using email systems is how quickly you can perform different tasks. Opening an email, tracing history of email conversation, adding files as email attachment, composing new emails, replying emails, organizing emails into groups, finding old emails from mailbox, wait for new emails to arrive etc. If you have used Gmail then chances are that you will say it is fastest in performing all these tasks in comparison to other email systems out there such as Yahoo Mail, Hotmail etc.
Gmail does not refresh the whole page when you click a link, instead it just reload only that section of the page that needs to display new information. Also Gmail automatically checks for new emails and updates the page automatically if there is new arrival, so you do not have to keep on clicking refresh button of your web browser. When you want to attach a file as email attachment, you will not be redirected to a new page to perform this small task, you can do it on the same page and you will see the file upload progress in real time.
Organizing your mails is one task that saves your time and from the stress of searching old mails and comparing their email conversation history. In Gmail you can see assign labels to emails in order to group your emails whereas in other email systems you have to move your emails to separate folders in order to group them. Also Gmail labels do not hide your emails from Inbox, it treats labels as tags to emails and you can add multiple labels to a single email. Gmail comes with a new concept of tabbing previous email conversation and you can see the summary of all your email history in a small area, this makes you view associated emails in a chronological order and it keeps on recording new actions with time.
Gmail provides a great email experience to its users. Speed, usability, simplicity are to name a few experiences. I was big fan of Yahoo Mail and also liked some features of Hotmail but all this changed after I signed up for Gmail account. It took me some time to get used to with the new e-mail system and probably more time in exploring and learning different features. Gmail is a speedy e-mail and I do not think there is a better email system on the internet.
