Keeping your students attention can be difficult when presenting them with a Bible lesson course. Teenagers have a lot on their minds and they easily get distracted and can start daydreaming at the drop of a dime. Keeping the attention of your youth ministry students requires unique approaches in your teaching. Keep the following tips in mind when you are looking for a unique way to present your Bible lessons and other youth ministry material to your youth group students.
One unique way to present a Bible lesson to your youth ministry is by using multimedia in your presentation. If you have a Bible lesson that is centered upon the topic of friendship and forgiveness, maybe you can start off a lesson by showing clips from the movie “The Bucket List”. If you are presenting a Bible lesson on the topic of Jesus Christ and his life, maybe you can show clips from the movie the “Passion of the Christ”.

It doesn’t just have to be movie though, now with the Internet being able to be accessed really everywhere, you can use PowerPoint presentations and also streaming audio or video in your Bible lessons. Multimedia is great to use as a unique way to present a Bible lesson, but another tip is to not lean on the multimedia presentation too much and don’t let it get in the way of you actually teaching your students an important Bible lesson or message from Scripture.
Another unique way to deliver a Bible lesson to your students and keep their attention throughout the entire class is to teach through a skill or teambuilding game. If you have a subject that you are covering which has to do with community or family, maybe you can have your youth ministry participate in a teambuilding game where they come together as one unit to accomplish a set of goals that you have prepared for them. This is especially great when the weather is conducive to outdoor activities and you can have everybody outside enjoying God’s great outdoors. Don’t be afraid to change up the environment of your classroom, and if the season permits take your students outside to get some fresh air while also learning the word of God.
Another unique and engaging way to teach your youth ministry students is to have them engage in group discussions and group debates. By having your students engage in debates and discussions you ensure that they will be paying attention and also that everybody will get a fair shot at participating. A great way to set up a debate is to give your students a set of questions and then divide the class into two groups. Have each group support opposing answers to questions so that there will be lively debate and both sides are equally represented.
These activities are great to use with any sized youth ministry and are guaranteed to keep your youth ministry interesting and engaging to your students. While it is important to teach from the Bible sound biblical scripture and sound biblical messages nobody says that you can’t have alot of fun while doing it.

When you are looking to inform your youth ministry about sound biblical teachings there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. As a youth leader or youth minister you need to keep in mind who you are teaching and what you are teaching them. Speaking to a bunch of teenagers can be a difficult task if you are not up to it, or you haven’t planned properly. So use the following tips and keep in mind the next time you are presenting to your youth ministry or you are speaking in front of your church.
Teenagers for the most part have a very short attention span for anything that they do. If you do not keep their interest and grab their attention from the very beginning of your presentation you will see that a few heads will start to nod off. Today teenagers have a very busy life which is made up of school, extracurricular activities and also time with friends.

For a teenager to be part of youth ministry is at times one of the last things that they are thinking about. So when you are presenting a Bible lesson to a teenager make it fun for them and interactive. One of the ways that you can make a Bible lesson or your use group time interactive and engaging is by utilizing youth ministry games and also youth ministry icebreakers. If you plan to just teach the Bible lesson from Scripture, you run the chance of being boring, but throw in an activity or game to keep their attention.
Another thing that you should do when presenting to your youth ministry is be enthusiastic about what you are teaching. When you are spreading the word of Jesus Christ is important to be enthusiastic about your subject and let your love and passion for the word of God show through in every single word that comes out of your mouth. Being passionate about the subject will often lead to being animated which will help keep everybody’s attention and keep everybody engaged in your presentation.
Another great thing to do when presenting in front of a youth ministry is taking time to make sure that the material you are teaching as a direct connection to your students. By connecting a Bible story to their lives your students currently live you automatically drawing students in to the material. When you connect a Bible story to their lives you can give them actionable material that they can put into their lives right away. Instantly the Bible becomes a book now and not a book that was just relevant at the time it was written 2000 years ago.
By keeping these tips in mind when presenting to your youth ministry hopefully you will be able to make a deeper connection with your students. Every time you get up in front of your youth ministry remember that you are spreading the word of Jesus Christ and let your students know that you care for every single one of them.

When you are teaching a Bible lesson to your youth ministry questions will arise from your students because for some of them this will be their first experience with dedicated lessons from scripture. You also have to take into consideration the fact that teenagers can be very inquisitive and curious about things that they do not know of. With that in mind here are a few ways that you should always respond to questions from your youth ministry students.
The first thing to remember when answering a question from a student is to always be respectful. A question that might seem simple to you is a question that comes from them simply not knowing the answer. You should also remember that take every single question that youth ministry asks you as a big a positive that they are at least interested in the material that you are teaching to them. When your students are asking you questions that means that they are listening and they are taking in the information that you work trying to deliver to them.

With that in mind being respectful is fairly easy, just give each question that they ask you proper time and an adequate answer. If other students in the class know the answer to a question, allow them to help you along with answering. Sometimes other students have a great ability to describe something to another student better than any teacher can.
When you are responding to your students always be as honest and straightforward as you can be. There will be times when you don’t know the answer to a question. Not knowing an answer to a question posed by a student doesn’t mean you are a bad teacher, in fact the way you handle not knowing the question oftentimes makes the difference between a good teacher and a great teacher. So when the time arises and you are asked a question that you don’t know the answer to be upfront and honest with your use ministry and turn it into a research question for everybody to be involved in. Ask for your students input and their answers. Not knowing the question can always be a good a start to a great debate for group discussion because when you allow your students to have their input you more than likely will get a lot of different answers.
When responding to your students who are asking you questions after a Bible lesson also encourage everybody to speak up. Some of your students will be a lot shy than the other students, give them a little extra attention or praise so that they feel good about contributing to the group and asking questions.
In the end responding to questions posed by your students is a great time to connect with them and also clear up anything that they have in their mind. You might not always have the right answer but as long as you are off on an honest with your students they will go a long way in the amount of respect they have for you which will lead to more questions being asked.
